Grilly's is very much a part of community-in both Mill Valley and Fairfax. Local owner and Mill Valley resident, Jim Revoir believes in giving back to the community and being a visible part of it. You'll see him driving his green 1953 Chevy Pick-up (with the famous Grilly's logo on the side) in many parades. Grilly's also supports many local sports teams, schools and non-profit organizations and is an active contributor to Kiddo! in Mill Valley and "YES!" in Ross Valley as well as the Mill Valley film festival.

We are proud to announce that in January '09, Grilly's in Mill Valley and Grilly's in Fairfax received certification as offical Bay Area/Marin Green Businesses. Both restaurants made systematic changes in how they conduct business and the goods and services that are bought, in an effort to reduce energy consumption. There were strict criteria that must be met in order to become gren certified, but we knew the changes were worth the cost and effort.
Some changes to note: we now use utensiles made from potatoes and no longer use any plastic "to go" bags. Incondescent lights were switched to fluorescent bulbs and old fluorescent tubular lighting was retrofitted to more energy efficient T-8 fluorescent tubes. We recycle everything that is currently recyclable. We installed high pressure-low flowpot washing decices and switched our electric water heaters to gas for more energy conservation. We have implemented little things like turning off lights, fans and motors when not in use, using recycled paper in the office, reducing the amount of laundry that gets laundered weekly and hchanging the outdoor tree lights from incondescent to evergy efficient LED lights. We are striving to conserve resouces whenever possible.
